Title:  Instructional Designer

Location:  Chicago, IL 

Job Description: Are you an experienced Instructional Designer with the ability to develop innovative training and learning modules? We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about creating progressive and efficient content for classroom and on-line training presentations as well as additional materials to support a full-service safety consulting firm.

This position involves enhancing and solidifying the company’s center line processes to ensure continuity throughout the company. The ability to work with developers and manage the day to day maintenance of a Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure an effective delivery of on-line safety courses.  Must have great communicative and technical skills to problem solve and advise management and/or other groups on instructional design topics. This position requires the ability to interface with clients, orienting and on-boarding new LMS clients via systematic implementation, structured training and technical support.

Essential job functions include:       

  • Create interactive learning activities and course content which will encourage knowledge retention
  • Design educational content for conventional classroom style training sessions and web-based modules
  • Develop and customize content for client portal
  • Responsible for management of the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Collaborate with outside vendors (LMS, voice talent) coordinating services
  • Design and implement evaluation plans to assess the impact of all training materials
  • Work closely with Department Heads to ensure training materials are ready for new client implementations
  • Highly effective in communicating to various levels of leadership within the company to understand Subject Matter Expert material

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Communications, Graphic Design or comparable
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the design and development of instructional material
  • Competent time management skills with attention to details
  • Ability to handle client service issues professionally
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish (a plus)

Skill Requirements:

  • Develop and implement Safety Management Systems for both construction and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to identify instructional design trends and implement accordingly
  • Works closely with executive and front-line management to drive Safety Management Systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Computer competent and up-to-date with technology
  • Adapts existing curriculum training, content and materials as needed
  • Acts as the administrator for current LMS managing and uploading content along with assessing and assisting clients with issues
  • Proficient in Articulate Storyline 2, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro
